April 4th 2011:
On April 16 and 17, Gert van Santen will exhibit his work during the "Culturele Ronde" in Wageningen, Netherlands. Entrance is free.

Gert van Santen:
"The digital age has given me the opportunity to do what I had intuitively always wanted: unlimited manipulation of reality. My cameras, my computers and my software became my paint, my canvas and my brushes."

"I create evocative abstractions, based on standard pictures. Working on these images is an intuitive process of alienation, a multi-dimensional rorschach test, if you want, where the resulting work is completely disconnected from the original subject, often in a repetitive, trance-inducing way. Only tiny pieces of texture and structure remain, as findings at an archeological excavation site."

"It is my aim to stimulate the imagination of art lovers and buyers and make them go back to my work time and time again, to see if there could be something left that they might have missed; a clue, perhaps, or a meaning. A door to another world..."
